First Phase Punjab Begins Free Plot Scheme for Homeless

Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz on Thursday announced that the scheme to provide free plot scheme to the homeless in Punjab has been officially launched.

In the First Phase Punjab Begins Free Plot Scheme for Homeless, 1,892 plots will be given to eligible beneficiaries from 33 housing schemes in 22 districts. Under this scheme, land will be allotted in various districts including Hazara, Attock, Jhelum, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Chiniot, Mamun Kangan, Salanwali, Jhang, Patki, Okara, Renala Khurd, Bhakkar, Khushab, Leh, Vehari, Lodhran, Sahiwal, Chihwa, Bahapur and Rajapur. According to the government rules, the land is allotted as follows:

Rawalpindi District: 658 3-Maala plots covering 4 districts, 5 schemes.

Faisalabad District: 288 plots in 5 districts, 4 schemes.

Lahore District: 518 plots in 5 schemes in 3 districts.

Bhakkar District: 131 plots in 7 schemes.

Multan District: 270 plots, 9 schemes in 5 districts.

Bahawalpur District: 27 plots in 3 schemes.

Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed the authorities to take immediate steps to ensure timely allocation of land to the displaced people.
